My workshop is located in an old telephone exchange building in Irwell Village, Leeston. From the front door you can see every step we take to create a unique solution for your works of art and special memories.

Like a doctor, my driving goal is first do no harm and every step of the framing process is designed to protect and enhance the item being framed. I use specialist equipment, high quality materials and have a wide range of locally made and imported framing for you to choose from.

Flutterby Cottage offers a wide range of general framing methods for new art, and your favourite pieces that might simply need a refresh.

Our Why

Flutterby Cottage is about creating, and curating, memories.

I love to get out and explore the world around me and these explorations are the basis for my photography, art that is framed to hang on the wall.

But it is not just about my memories - yours are important too! As a picture framer I am passionate about preserving your special moments so that you and your family can enjoy them for many years to come.

I hope you enjoy browsing my website and invite you to get in contact with me if I can help you in any way.

Photography

I am a landscape photographer, mostly. Sometimes I photograph other things - birds and animals, fungi or stars, but what draws me to click the shutter is generally a larger view of the world and the feelings that view evokes within me.

Sometimes I faithfully record that view in sharp focus, sometimes I use a range of techniques to amplify or adjust areas to create a more artistic image in a style of photography known as Pictorialism. I do edit my images but I don’t use AI to generate any part of my photography.

I am lucky that my love of travel allows and encourages extensive photographic exploration so my portfolio includes images from my home area of Canterbury, special parts of New Zealand, and a few random spots around the world.

My images are available to purchase as archival quality prints in a range of sizes (either framed or unframed) and occasionally as mixed media art works.

I hope you enjoy browsing the gallery and reach out if something catches your eye.
